Ya han comenzado los ensayos para el concierto de aniversario de el próximo 19 de Septiembre en Carmaux. Por el estudio han aparecido Gérard Hourbette, Thierry Zaboitzeff, Michael Nick, Romuald Cabardos, Jean-Pierre Soarez, Daniel Denis y Serge Bertocchi. Después se integrarán Yukari Bertocchi Hamada y Nadia Ratsimandresy.

Entre otras cosas, anuncian:
· Que serán diez músicos, cuatro del grupo actual (dos teclados incluyendo un ondes Martenot y dos percusionistas), Thierry Zaboitzeff (bajo y chelo), Jean-Pierre Soarez (trompeta), Serge Bertocchi (saxos), Michael Nick (violín y viola), Daniel Denis (percusión & pads) y Gérard Hourbette.
· El recorrido será cronológico, incluyendo piezas que van desde "Symphonie pour le jour où brûleront les cités" a "La Chute de la Maison Usher" pasando por "Nosferatu", "Berlin", "Marathonnerre", "Phase IV"...
· Dichas piezas están todavía en proceso de reorquestación y ensayo.
· Y por último... ¡¡anuncian caja de 11 cds inéditos con directos, música para ballets, etc. para principios de 2016!!

« Nous (Art Zoyd, "groupe") avons un projet (assez) formidable pour 2015, dans le sens où il va de ce côté « historique » d’Art Zoyd, que, plusieurs fois, nous avons évoqué… et qui est un véritable événement, puisqu'il concerne la vie entière du groupe (solide et pas moins immuable depuis 1969 (échelle du début) ou 1971 (échelle du rescapé). Ce projet s’inscrit dans nos désormais 44 ans ½ d’Art Zoyd, ou 45 ans moins le quart.[Dans ce même cadre, nous sortirons pour la fin 2015 – début 2016 un coffret de onze CDS d’inédits, dont des live, musiques pour théâtre, ballets, expositions, évènementiels.] »
Mais ce n'est pas le propos. Voici donc le projet :
Les musiciens seront neuf, ou dix, selon que je me compte ou pas… :
4 du groupe actuel (2 claviers dont onde Martenot, 2 percussionnistes (voir line up) + Thierry Zaboitzeff (bassiste, violoncelliste et compositeur de 1971 à 1996), Jean-Pierre Soarez (trompettiste de 1976 à 1985), Serge Bertocchi (saxophones), 1 violoniste / altiste (Michael Nick), et Daniel Denis d’Univers Zéro (percussion & pads)….L’idée est de prouver que ces musiques écrites au tournant des années 70, 80 à aujourd’hui peuvent être des pièces de répertoire, donc, à ce titre être rejouées à l’envi, trouver de nouveaux interprètes et de nouvelles réalisations virtuoses ou imaginatives…
Un parcours, forcément un peu chronologique, de pièces certainement faisant figure de références, sinon – oserais-je répéter ? : – « cultes »… (Preuve leur longévité sur disques ou Cds, lesquels continuent, 20 ou 40 ans après, à être vendues, commentées, rééditées …
Cette idée de rejouer de « vieilles » pièces est une (très) « vilaine » pensée qui courait dans ma tête depuis longtemps. Mais pas seulement : elle courait aussi dans la tête de mon compère Thierry Zaboitzeff, éclipsé en 1997…
Les pièces sont encore en cours de réorchestration et de répétitions pour un total de deux heures et quelques. L'évènement marquera non seulement les « retrouvailles » avec Thierry - après 18 ans - mais aussi du trompettiste d'origine, Jean-Pierre Soarez, avec la complicité attentive de Daniel Denis, fondateur d'Univers Zéro, et présent sur de nombreux concerts et albums du début.
Ce concert ne comportera que des pièces du répertoire d’Art Zoyd, allant de Symphonie pour le jour où brûleront les cités … à La Chute de la Maison Usher, en passant par Nosferatu, Berlin, Marathonnerre, Phase IV etc.
C’est un projet unique, à la mesure d’un événement comme « 45 », « 50 ans », « 60 années », « cent ans » etc.
Une véritable cérémonie, une fête (parfois de magie - noire), un festival de pièces traversant les styles, et les genres, les instrumentariums, … et révélant les complicités de gens n’ayant plus joué ensemble depuis longtemps, ou ne s’étant même jusqu'à aujourd'hui jamais rencontrés…

ART ZOYD PROJECT / ROCK IN OPPOSITION 2015
Formed in Valenciennes in 1969, Art Zoyd was initially a progressive rock group, influenced by the music of Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa and the like. The year 1971 was marked by the disbanding of some members of the group and by the arrival of Gérard Hourbette and Thierry Zaboitzeff, who, after the founding member left in 1975, were to shape the destiny of the group by radically changing the direction of the group and exploring new avenues. There were to be no more drums or electric guitars, but a group of four musicians, 2 violins, bass and trumpet, which were to form the basis of the group for several years. In 1976, when their first LP was produced, Art Zoyd went on tour with the group Magma (Paris, Nantes,Toulouse, Colmar ...). In 1978, it joined the international movement Rock in Opposition founded by the drummer Chris Cutler with, among others, Fred Frith, Art Bears, Univers Zero, Stormy Six, Etron Fou Leloublan, Zamlas Mammas Manna... From 1980 to 1984, Art Zoyd toured all over Europe and became a figurehead of « new music » (also known as « Art Rock » or « Avant-Rock »). In 1983, the choreographer Roland Petit spotted the band in a televised concert and commissioned the music for a full ballet : Le Mariage du Ciel et de l’Enfer, premiered at the Festival de la Scala in Milan with Art Zoyd on stage, followed by thirty staging’s in France, including twelve at the Théâtre des Champs Élysées in Paris. It was a revelation to discover that this music, with its radical choices and developments were so radical, could please such a large public, little used to the discordant harmonies and rhythmic beats of this new genre, combining amplified instruments, electric instruments, tapes and voices. It was from that time that the group decided to explore the combination between music and visual arts, whether performing arts such as dance and drama, or silent movies and video. Now based in Valenciennes, the group has turned regularly in Europe and the United States (Lincoln Center Festival in New York), Hong Kong, Australia (Adelaide Festival), Japan (1997 and 2002) and Mexico (1996, 1999 and 2003). Asked to play for specific events such as the inauguration of the Globe Arena in Stockholm, the group also composed stage music. Art Zoyd has gone on to create music for films, such as Nosferatu (1988) and Faust (Rome - 1993) by F.W. Murnau, Häxan by Benjamin Christensen (Queen Elisabeth Hall - London 1995). Their success was amazing : Nosferatu is still performed over fifteen years after it was created, while Häxan and Faust were staged as recently as 2001 and 2003. Thierry Zaboitzeff left the group in 1997, which was another turning point in the group’s history. Art Zoyd opened its studios to other artists and composers, working for three years with the Orchestre National de Lille on the Dangerous Visions project that involved a symphonic orchestra, music technology and video. Luc Ferrari, Gérard Pape, Thierry de Mey, Heiner Goebbels, Pierre Vasseur, Helmut Oehring, Christophe Maudot, Eric Sleichim, Granular Synthesis, Gérard Hourbette, for the music and Granular Synthesis, dumb type, Michael Saup, Lydie Jean-Dit-Pannel, Hagen Klennert, Geert Mul, Safy for the images, all took part in these new « adventures ». The concerts (in Lille, Créteil, Maubeuge, St Pölten, Mexico, etc...) attracted over 20 000 people. From 2000, Art Zoyd pursued this experiment and joined forces with the Belgian ensemble Musiques Nouvelles in a long term project entitled Expériences de Vol (Flight Experiences), with the aim of founding a Cross-Border Center for the Production and Creation of New Music, which would offer residencies for artists or composers. The pieces (27 composition to date) are created on stage, then recorded in the studio by Art Zoyd and Musiques Nouvelles (triple CD c/o Sub Rosa). The centre has extended the studio’s activities to include production, funding a multitude of projects (artistic advising, composition contests, classes and training courses, projects with amateur artists (u.B.I.Q.U.e, Nosferatu 2013, Antares Project, etc.) In 2001, Art Zoyd created and recorded Metropolis based on the film by Fritz Lang, for the fully restored version of the film. Metropolis is a sort of « meta-music » resulting from the « layering » of music by several composers, Gérard Hourbette, Patricia Dallio and Kasper T. Toeplitz who joined the group as an associate composer. In 2001, Gerard Hourbette also composes a music for Karole Armitage’s Choreography The Cat of Schrödinger for the National ballet of Nancy. Art Zoyd is increasingly focusing on research, particularly in electronic instruments and interfaces (sensors, theremin, real time, etc.), in conjunction with various production assistants and developers, some of which are from other studios or institutes. In 2004, Art Zoyd created for Lille 2004 European Capital of the Culture, ARMAGEDDON, the first operetta for robots with the robotics engineer Louis-Philippe Demers and Musiques In 2005, Art Zoyd settles in Valenciennes in new Studios placed by the City at our disposal (in the same building as the ENMAD - conservatory of music of Valenciennes) and creates Les Magasins Réunis with Ars Nova. In 2006, Field of the tears, an electronic oratorio mixing the music’s of Kasper T Toeplitz, Gerard Hourbette and the video of Dominik Barbier. In 2007, Art Zoyd takes part in Valenciennes 2007 « To make the popular culture » with two giant pyrotechnical concerts in partnership with the Group F Rivers of Lights and Art Zoyd creates Eyecatcher - the man with a movie camera, a « dramatic fancy » on « old modernity’s » mixing the computer-generated images of Cecile Babiole and the silent film of Dziga Vertov, today instruments and yesterday’s one : Theremin, onde Martenot, Stroh violin. In 2008, Art Zoyd created The Fall of the House of Usher by Jean Epstein at,the Louvre Museum. In 2009,a new Opera, Kaïro, from the Kiyoshi Kurosawa novel. In 2010, Art Zoyd created The Black particles, a visual art concert with video by Anne Niemetz and a performance of Akiko Kitamura. In 2011, Art Zoyd created A demi endormi déjà, a kind of cinema concert for young audience, based on a novella of a French author called Celia Houdart with some drawings of François Olislaeger. In 2013, they created a multimedia show titled Three Invalid Dreams, based on the universe of the writer Philip K. Dick and in partnership with three famous visual artists : Christian Châtel, Serge Meyer and Pierrick Sorin.
